Derek Schwartz is Running for Congressman

Derek Schwartz is running to serve as a Congressman from Florida District 21 in the House of Representatives, U.S. Congress. He grew up in South Florida in the 1980s and 1990s. After attending college in Atlanta, Georgia and law school at the University of Florida, I moved back to South Florida to practice real estate and estate planning law.

The Brazilian community has enhanced our cultural landscape as well as the economy in South Florida. Brazilian businesses, ranging from multinational companies, to retail banks, restaurants, to neighborhood stores and corner bakeries, have positively impacted South Florida for decades. South Florida realizes that Brazilian-Americans are hard working, take care of their families and contribute to society.

With our new tax reform passed by the Trump administration, lower taxes will even further the ability for Brazilian businesses to thrive in South Florida, and it will put more money in everyone’s paycheck. One of my primary goals when I get elected to Congress is to help ensure these lower taxes continue to help the community.

Education is extremely important to all of us especially for the younger generations. I am dedicated to ensuring that a quality education is available to everyone. As such, I fully support School Choice which gives parents a choice and assistance in sending their children to the schools of their choice. As the education level rises, the community rises.

Our constitutional rights need to be protected and preserved. I am committed to our constitution. Liberties such as freedom of speech, freedom of religion and protection from tyranny are always only one generation away from extinction, and are liberties that many countries do not have. It is also important to make sure that our government is small and not overspending or wasteful. will bring a conservative set of values to Congress.

The election will take place on November 6, 2018, and I hope to get your vote! Once in Congress, my job will just begin, and I will strive to ensure that the Brazilian-American communities in my district continue to grow and prosper. Lower taxes, family values and good education are at the forefront of my agenda. There’s been a consistent and successful effort this past year to bring more businesses to the U.S. and together we can keep America strong.

I look forward to representing you in our federal government in Washington, D.C. as a member of Congress. Thank you, and God Bless You and Your Family.”
